"But the fire of the Phoenix burns through lies, you understand? The gaze of the Phoenix is like an x-ray tearing through every self-deception. So burn, Emma!”
“If even one more person died at my hands…It’s better this way. Quick. Clean. Final. I love you, Scott. A part of me will always be with you.”
“I am fire and life incarnate! Now and forever — I am Phoenix!”
-Jean Grey (chris claremont)
I need a new computer, it feels like painting the Sistine chapel with chalk made from a wet slug. Im taking all comp suggestions heh
*edit* i didn’t open ten files of jean its a glitch and than crashed heh
TBH this all started with a simple curiosity, What would cyclops look like in jeans Jim lee 90s outfit? It turned out to be a fun warm up sketch and warm up color sketch. I plan to hit up other xmen but first…some ground rules i set up for myself. Color schemes switched and try to incorporate some major designs from the other character like the big red belt or some form of pink glasses.
Can the great jubilee pull of logans brown and orange outfit and can the great menacing wolverine look deadly in pink (probably not)(i tried)
on bonus note check out this intro when looking at the art.
All my favorite women of the Dark Phoenix saga . Including some of my favorite imperial super guardians oracle hussar and the queen lilandra.
Only missing the great Moria Mactarget,
after 5 million wip shots its inked . heh
*nerdalert* all i could thinking while i was inking , If gateway and nightcrawler teleport this team in who would even dare stand on the other side. The reavers dont stand a chance lol
Wolverine =trying my new rapidograph (learning allot lol)
Storm /Nightcrawler= dry brush nib (most fun)
Magneto = ink wash.
Rogue spilled beet juice
Wanted to see the difference and see if i could tie the whole piece together cohesively. I think im learning you shouldn’t be pressured to stick to just one medium.

yeah that would be a blast, i love kris anka design and the mohawk just rocks, i feel like with characters that i love , i always want another stab at drawing them so i can get a better feeling for that character. So yeah if you are interested in a commission please email me at ink4884@ gmail.com.
the only thing is i don’t mail out commissions through the post office or rarely do and so if you do want to get one you will have to get it at the shows i do through out the year.
Check the wolverine head shot below for a list of shows near you

with my piece i tend to rely more on ink washes. I get a pallette and i make little different puddles of shades of inks and tone out my pieces after i ink them or i use copics mostly.
I do use water color from time to time but i just use cheapy stuff you can buy off amazon. Everything i learned is from dustin nguyen and he has a great tumblr and website. I dont know if he put any tutorials though up. I haven’t seen any but if im sure he can point you in the right direction.
